W Hotels Worldwide, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Inc. will make its debut in Switzerland on 1st December 2013 with the opening of W Verbier and The Residences at W Verbier. Owned by Les Trois Rocs, the W brand’s first alpine and ski retreat is ideally situated at the foot of the slopes beside the Médran gondola. Featuring four traditional wooden chalet-style buildings, each connected by a contemporary glass atrium, the retreat will offer global jetsetters and Verbier enthusiasts immediate ski-in, ski-out access to all of the exciting alpine action.

Conrad Hotels & Resorts introduces the luxury hospitality segment’s first comprehensive pre check-in feature to its award-winning travel mobile application, Conrad Concierge. All guests at each of the Conrad brand’s 24 hotels worldwide can now find greater customization and convenience at the touch of a button – from selecting pre-arrival amenities to ordering in room dining and enjoying mobile check-out. Since Conrad introduced the platform with check out and amenity pre-selection functionality in November 2012, the app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times.

A promising hotel project: The plans of the logistics billionaire Klaus-Michael Kuehne for a new luxury hotel in prime location at the Alster lake in Hamburg. The hotel patron, who has the first luxury resort with the Castell Son Claret in Mallorca, wants to invest 100 million euros for it. On the site of the former Intercontinental Hotels, the Grand Hotel “The Fontenay” shall be opened in 2016. The first plans were presented now.
