Starwood Hotels and Resorts To Open 50 Hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced that it will open 50 hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East over the next three to five years. With growth fueled by demand for its design-led and luxury brands, the company will unveil 12 of these hotels in the region this year alone. Globally, Starwood expects to open 70-80 hotels in 2011 as it continues to strengthen its lead as the world’s largest operator of luxury and upper upscale hotels.

JW Marriott Manama, Bahrain to Open in 2016

Marriott International’s (NYSE:MAR) world-class luxury hotel brand, JW Marriott, announced today a new JW Marriott Manama, Bahrain Hotel, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, under management agreement with owner Khaleejcapita B.S.C., to open in 2016. The hotel will have 274 rooms and suites and 102 residences in Bahrain Bay, adjacent to Bahrain Financial Harbour and opposite the diplomatic quarter.

Sheraton to Open Five Properties in China Before End of Year

Adding even more muscle to its portfolio in China, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced that its iconic Sheraton® brand will open five more hotels in China before the end of year. In addition to these new openings, seven new Sheraton hotels and resorts debuted in the region this year in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Zhenjiang, Hainan and Jinzhou. With the addition of these 12 hotels, Sheraton will grow its portfolio to 46 hotels in Greater China by year’s end, moving Starwood closer to its goal of operating 100 hotels in Greater China by the end of 2012.

Hawaii’s First Hyatt Place property to Open

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Kokua Hospitality, LLC have announced that the Pali Tower at Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, the first of two towers being constructed at this property, is to open its doors to the public in December 2011. Diamond Tower, the second building at the property, is slated to be completed in spring 2012.PLocated at 175 Paoakalani Avenue, Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach will be the first Hyatt Place introduced to the Hawaii market.
