Abama is a communion between architecture and the natural environment. Lying just 25 minutes’ drive from Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur (Tenerife South Airport), the resort is an oasis of tranquility and seclusion, a retreat for the body and the mind, where sea, land and tropical vegetation mingle seamlessly with architectural forms. Its ingenious layout, guided by the aesthetic system of Feng Shui, means that you will find spaces of calm and seclusion in even the busiest parts of the hotel, and secret gardens, delightful pools and breathtaking vistas around every corner.

At the heart of The Ritz-Carlton, Abama lies the Citadel, which offers a choice of deluxe rooms and two categories of suite accommodation. All Citadel rooms also feature a furnished terrace offering magnificent views of the Atlantic, the golf course or the resort gardens. Away from the Citadel, hidden in the botanic gardens that tumble down towards the ocean, Abama’s Villa rooms and suites are oases of calm. For guests in search of the ultimate escape, the Tagor’ Villas, an entire row of exclusive luxury rooms and suites reserved solely for adults, offer a secluded paradise where guests can experience complete tranquility.

Carved from the sheer volcanic rock of the cliff-face, and accessible by our own funicular, Abama’s exclusive beach is a secluded paradise for sun and sea worshippers. Stroll along a perfect crescent of golden sand, take a reviving swim in warm ocean waters, or simply curl up on one of our comfortable loungers, where you can revel in the views of La Gomera Island. Alternatively, relax by one of our seven heated swimming pools, each of which is surrounded by tropical greenery. While their parents relax, our younger guests can enjoy the wide range of activities offered by Ritz Kids.

The Ritz-Carlton, Abama’s ten restaurants range from light, simple cooking to world-class gourmet cuisine. At the top end of the scale, the two Michelin-starred M.B is the signature restaurant of world-famous Basque chef Martin Berasategui. Kabuki, also holds a Michelin star and specializes in a sublime fusion of Japanese culinary tradition and modern Western techniques.

More informal dining options can be found in the Citadel’s other restaurants: the poolside Los Chozos; Pampa, for Argentinean parrilla cuisine; delicious Italian cooking at Verona; La Veranda, which serves a superb buffet breakfast; and the traditional Tapas & Wine Bar. Away from the Citadel, El Mirador serves fresh seafood and fish with magnificent cliff- top views, and the Casa Club and Beach Club offer a lighter alternative.
